The notion of ‘educational alternatives’ includes both alternatives to mainstream practices of education and schooling – such as, for example, home schooling, home education, and de de-schooling – and alternative approaches within mainstream practices of education and schooling – such as alternative conceptions and practices of schooling, democratic schools, student voice, student-centred education, etcetera. student Other Education is a new, online, peer reviewed, open access journal that aims to gather together a cumulative body of work from relevant scholars working with difference in education. The purpose of Other Education is to develop conversations that can build reputation, positionality and influence positionality in educational studies and beyond. We are launching an inaugural issue No 1 in September 2012, with two issues per year thereafter. Do you have work you would like us to consider for publication? We are interested in any perspective, any content, written in interesting but not necessarily perspective ‘standardised’ academic fashion (although that also is welcomed), seeking to contribute to a different education, another education and educational alternatives.
