I completed my B.A. at the University of Stirling in 2009, before going on to take the department's M.Litt in 'The Gothic Imagination.' Grant Morrison's Batman comics were the subject of my dissertation. In 2011, I began a PhD that will reconsider American Gothic in the context of globalization. A version of the first chapter, 'From Sleepy Hollow to Silent Hill,' will appear in an upcoming book on 'globalgothic.' A brief article on the novelist formerly known as Poppy Z. Brite is also forthcoming.
